Anguilla resident, 26, shot dead while on holiday in St Lucia

A 26-year-old British man who had been living in Anguilla was shot and killed this week while on holiday in St Lucia.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) said Kenrelle O’Flaherty was found lying on a road in the area of Garrand, Babonneau, at around 10.50pm on Tuesday, 28 October.

Speaking in a video report, Assistant Superintendent Eldeen Henry, who has responsibility for the northern division, said police found “apparent gunshot wounds” on his body.

A medical practitioner pronounced him dead at the scene.

“The body has since been identified as 26-year-old Kenrelle O’Flaherty, a British national who resides in Anguilla,” Henry said.

“An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding this incident.”

The incident comes just a day after a 41-year-old minibus driver was shot in Morne Du Don during an attempted robbery on the evening of 27 October.

He sustained a single gunshot wound and is in stable condition, St Lucia police have said.
