11am, 25 February – Elections supervisor speaks

Lloyd Live spoke to elections supervisor Rodney Rey at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, Quarter Campus about who can vote during today’s advance poll.

Rey admitted that yesterday he “wrongfully and inadvertently” allowed some people to register to vote early.

He said he had hoped to use his discretion for those who had genuine reasons for late registration, but said he was “wrong” and did not have the power under law.

The elections supervisor also reminded the public that there will be no sale of alcohol tomorrow between 6am and 7pm.

9am, 25 February – Advance polls open

Anguilla’s advance polling station has officially opened for select voters at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, Quarter Campus. It will remain open until 4pm.

The following professions are eligible for advance voting: police officers, customs officers, immigration officers, doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, prison officers, and medical technologists.

Those who are employed in the Central Electoral Office or are an election officer also qualify along with residents who are physically disabled or aged at least 70.

This is in accordance with the Elections Act, 2019 and the Elections (Amendment) Act, 2025.

The deadline for applications was Monday, 10 February.

8am, 25 February – General election begins

Anguilla’s general election has arrived with 34 candidates from three political parties, along with independents, vying for 11 seats in the Anguilla House of Assembly.

Representing the  Anguilla Progressive Movement (APM) are:

  • District 1 – Ellis Webster
  • District 2 – Lennox Vanterpool
  • District 3 – Courtney Morton
  • District 4 – Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers
  • District 5 – Merrick Richardson
  • District 6 – Haydn Hughes
  • District 7 – Jamie Hodge
  • Islandwide – Quincia Gumbs-Marie
  • Islandwide – Othlyn Vanterpool
  • Islandwide – Kenneth Hodge
  • Islandwide – Glenneva Hodge

Candidates for the Anguilla Reliable Team (ART) are:

  • District 5 – Aristo Theodore Richardson
  • District 6 – Marie Connor
  • District 7 – Kevin Pickering-Meyers
  • Islandwide – Curtis Richardson
  • Islandwide – Evan Gumbs
  • Islandwide – Marvo M Duncan-Webster
  • Islandwide – Rommel Hughes

Representing the Anguilla United Front (AUF) are:

  • District 1 – Claude Smith
  • District 2 – Cora Richardson-Hodge
  • District 3 – Shellya Rogers-Webster
  • District 4 – Cordell Richardson
  • District 5 – Davon Carty
  • District 6 – Patrick Mardenborough
  • District 7 – Cardigan Connor
