Anguilla launches five-year plan to improve and modernise the public service

The government has launched a five-year roadmap for strengthening governance, improving service delivery and modernising Anguilla’s public service.

The Public Service Transformation Strategy and Action Plan 2025-2030 brings together the findings of the Public Service Reform Review, published in July 2025.

It also builds on homegrown reform initiatives already in progress, a press release from the Department of Public Administration said.

The strategy focuses on moving decisively from review to implementation of public service reform, with clear priorities and actions.

It has been designed to strengthen leadership and accountability, improve how services are designed and delivered, and build a more trusted and future-ready public service.

It also aims to modernise the policy and governance framework underpinning the public sector.

The action plan sets out time-bound initiatives and responsibilities, allowing progress to be tracked and reported transparently.

The strategy and action plan was launched on 21 January at Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School.

Attending the event were Deputy Governor Perin Bradley, Governor Julia Crouch, Premier Cora Rochardson Hodge, and social development minister Shellya Rogers-Webster.

The deputy governor, who is head of the public service, said: “This strategy and action plan reflects the collective effort, insight and commitment of public officers across the service.

“It provides a clear framework for how we will take reform forward in a practical, accountable and sustained way over the next five years.”
