Police are asking for members of the public to come forward with CCTV footage, dash cam footage, videos or photos related to the recent murder in Sandy Ground.

“Your assistance is crucial as we work to bring those responsible to justice. Every piece of information, no matter how small, could be vital to our investigation,” a spokesperson said on 21 August.

The Royal Anguilla Police Force is continuing to investigate the killing of 26-year-old Kalik Aaron from the US Virgin Islands.

He was shot dead in what police described as a “targeted” shooting on Road Well Road next to Road Salt Pond at about 9.40pm on 11 August.

The incident happened on the same evening that hundreds of spectators were at the Anguilla Summer Festival closing ceremony nearby.

According to police, several people have been arrested, interrogated and subsequently discharged pending further investigations.

Police dog Ruger and his handler, K9 Officer Sargeant Vanroy Herbert, were deployed at the scene to assist in the investigation, the statement added.

“The RAPF remains committed to ensuring the safety of our community and appreciates the ongoing cooperation and support of the public,” it said.

“If you have any information that could assist in this investigation, please do not hesitate to reach out. Together, we can keep Anguilla safe.”

Aaron’s murder was the seventh shooting death in Anguilla this year.
