A press release from the Royal Anguilla Police Force said the man sustained several gunshot wounds and was taken from the scene for medical treatment.
Lesroy Clarke, acting superintendent of crime, in a statement on 17 September, said the victim remains in stable condition and continues to receive medical care.
He added that the suspect was arrested following the execution of a warrant. They have not yet been charged.

Police also executed warrants in connection with an armed robbery in North Hill yesterday morning and have people in custody assisting with the investigation.
A masked robber brandishing a gun stole a gold chain from a maintenance worker at a private property just before 9am before fleeing the scene.
“Reports indicate that an unknown individual, dressed in all black and wearing a mask and hoodie, approached a worker at a private property and brandished a firearm,” police said.
Clarke said police will continue to act with “urgency and determination” to bring those responsible to justice, and thanked the public for their cooperation.
