“We are grateful to our community partners who ensure that every baby born in Anguilla begins life with dignity and every family feels supported as they begin their journey into parenthood.”

FirstStarts was launched on 13 November 2024 when Glenneva Hodge of GLH Productions, the non-profit behind the project, presented the first baby kits to the Department of Health Services.
The kits contain essential items for Anguilla’s new mothers such as diapers, wipes, bibs, clothing, blankets, towels, hygiene and grooming kits, breast pumps and more.
A year later, members of the programme handed over their 100th kit – a mission that continues to go strong into 2026.
Readers can join Anguilla Focus to support the initiative and enjoy unlimited access to exclusive content, editorials, giveaways and discount codes for US$4, $8, or $15 per month.
Editor Rebecca Bird said: “We’re not supported by wealthy investors or shareholders, so we rely entirely on our members to keep our reporting independent and sustainable.
“We are so grateful to everyone who joins our membership community, and are excited turn every new sign-up into support for a local cause in the coming months.”
