Anguilla Focus is preparing to launch the Best in Anguilla awards, celebrating the people, businesses, places and organisations that make Anguilla special.
We’re very excited to bring this new annual celebration to the island, but before we decide exactly what it will look like, we want you to have a say.
The foundations are in place and we’re now shaping the categories, format and process. We’d love you to help us make Best in Anguilla something the whole community can get behind.
What should be recognised?
We think the awards should celebrate the island’s best shops, restaurants, bars, real estate agents, tour companies and other businesses and services that people rely on every day.
They should also shine a light on the people who contribute so much to island life, from teachers, entrepreneurs and community leaders to healthcare workers, artists and athletes.
And they should showcase the places, events and experiences that make the island special, from its beautiful beaches and natural attractions to its vibrant cultural life.
But maybe there are categories we haven’t even thought of yet.
Tell us what you think deserves to be recognised. Your suggestions will help us shape an awards programme that reflects the things Anguilla’s community genuinely values.
How will the awards work?
Readers will nominate the contenders in each category, with Anguilla Focus creating the shortlists and a panel of local independent judges selecting the winners.
We’re also considering Readers’ Choice categories, giving the wider community the opportunity to vote directly.
The exact categories and process will be announced once they’re finalised, but we want the awards to combine community involvement with a fair and credible way of selecting the winners.
Winners will be announced on the Anguilla Focus website and across our social media channels. A Best in Anguilla winner’s badge will be available for the winners to share in their marketing materials.
Become an awards sponsor
We’re inviting businesses and organisations to get involved as Best in Anguilla awards sponsors.
Sponsors will have the opportunity to support a celebration of local excellence while putting their name behind an award category or even the Best in Anguilla awards programme as a whole.
We see sponsorship as a way for local businesses to play a meaningful role in celebrating the community while also gaining visibility.
We’re currently developing the sponsorship opportunities and would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved from the beginning.
