President of the Anguilla Football Association (AFA), Girdon Connor, has been appointed deputy chairperson of the FIFA Finance Committee.
He will play a key role in guiding FIFA’s financial oversight and strategic planning, ensuring the continued integrity, transparency and sustainability of the organisation’s global initiatives.
In a statement on 10 October, AFA congratulated Connor and said it is a “remarkable achievement” that reflects the growing influence and credibility of Anguilla within global football governance.

“This appointment is a true honour and a testament to Mr Connor’s proven leadership, financial acumen, and unwavering dedication to the development of football locally, regionally and internationally,” it said.
AFA added that the achievement “serves as an inspiration to all who work to elevate Anguilla’s presence on the world football stage”.
The FIFA Finance Committee oversees the organisation’s financial management, including budgets, investments and financial regulations, ensuring transparency and stability within the governing body.
The AFA is the governing body responsible for organising, promoting and developing football activities and competitions in Anguilla.
