Anguilla voted second best island in Caribbean and Atlantic

Condé Nast Traveler has announced the results of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards, ranking Anguilla as the second best island in the Caribbean and Atlantic.

The 2024 results were posted online on 1 October and are celebrated in the November print issue of the travel magazine.

Anguilla scored 91.01%, coming in just behind Bermuda which claimed the top spot in the 37th awards competition with 91.22%.

Chantelle Richardson, deputy director of tourism in the Anguilla Tourist Board, expressed her delight at Anguilla’s rise to the number two spot, after securing third-place in 2023.

In a Facebook post on 3 October, she called the new position “a validation of our commitment to improving our on-island visitor experiences”.

“In addition to our spectacular beaches and exceptional cuisine, we have created a range of authentic experiences that allow our guests to delve into our rich culture and heritage,” Richardson continued.

“This vote of confidence from the sophisticated readers of this influential travel magazine is doubly welcome as we look forward to the upcoming winter season.

“On behalf of the Anguilla Tourist Board, we congratulate our tourism stakeholders and partners, who have all contributed to our success.”

Three of Anguilla’s resorts also featured in the Readers’ Choice Awards list of top 40 resorts in the Caribbean for 2024.

Zemi Beach House on Shoal Bay East ranked at number six, Cap Juluca on Maundays Bay at number 11, and Malliouhana on Meads Bay at number 33.

Anguilla set new tourism records in four of the first five months of 2024, with January, February, March and May seeing the highest visitor numbers since data collection began.
