A 49-year-old George Hill man who has been charged with the murder of Romaine Ovardo Carby has been remanded to prison.
Krishna Baijnauth appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on 12 January facing charges of murder and arson in relation to the death in Bad Cox on 7 January.
He was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison in The Valley where he will await further court dates, the Royal Anguilla Police Force said in a press release on 13 January.

The body of Carby, aged 37 from South Hill, was discovered in a yard near a burnt-out car just after 6am on 7 January.
In an earlier press release, police said preliminary investigations determined that the Jamaican man was “involved in a violent incident involving his motor vehicle” before his death.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, observed suspicious activity or who may have information that can assist the investigation to come forward.
The death marked the first homicide in Anguilla of 2026, with the second reported just three days later.
Clashawn Gumbs, 19, of Blowing Point died after being shot multiple times on Rendezvous Drive in Blowing Point sometime before 9.46am on Saturday, 10 January.
The Royal Anguilla Police Force is offering a reward of up to US$10,000 for information leading to a conviction.
