Two years after the murder of 14-year-old Shaquan Richardson, the Royal Anguilla Police Force is offering up to $10,000 for information leading to a conviction.
The move is part of a new policy announced this week to reward those who come forward with information on murders and other serious crimes.
On the two year anniversary of the tragic shooting, the police force is renewing its appeal for public assistance in the “priority” investigation.

On 5 October, 2023, Shaquan, a student at Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, went to James Ronald Webster Park in The Quarter on his lunchtime break.

He was sitting under a tree with a group of school friends at about 12pm when an armed person approached the group and opened fire.
A police spokesperson told Anguilla Focus that the shooter was slim built, wearing dark clothing and a mask. “No further description was obtained,” they said.
Shaquan and 17-year-old Jhakia Dasent were struck with bullets as they attempted to flee.
Dasent was injured in the incident but later recovered, while Shaquan tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect fled the scene and remains unidentified to this day.
Shaquan’s body was discovered hours later in the park, after his family reported him missing that evening. Police declined to comment on why there had been a delay in locating him.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to bringing his killer to justice,” he said.
The reward policy was announced in a police press release on 3 October which said informants will be protected and processes will be closely monitored.
Should anyone have to testify, there are several security measures that will be taken to protect them and their identity, it added.
Clark said: “This new reward policy underscores our determination and provides an added incentive for those who may have information to come forward.”
