Prison officers find illegal phones, chargers, lighters and weapon

Officers at His Majesty’s Prison in Anguilla found several illegal items during an early morning search of the facility.

According to a Facebook post from the Governor’s Office, they recovered six mobile phones, chargers, lighters and a makeshift weapon.

The search took place on Friday, 18 October, after officers decided to act on “intelligence”, the post said.

It added that prisoners found in possession of illegal items or those caught supplying them will be charged under the Prison Act.
