Jacqueline Bryan-Niles and Maeza Demis-Adams have been appointed as permanent secretaries, as part of a wider public service leadership restructure.
They were selected following a competitive recruitment process and announced by Deputy Governor Perin Bradley, according to a press release from the Governor’s Office on 17 July.
“Both appointees demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a sound understanding of public policy during the selection process,” it read.
“Their appointments mark an important step in our ongoing renewal and transition at the senior executive level of government.”
Following consultation with Premier Cora Richardson Hodge and the Public Service Commission, a number of permanent secretary portfolio reassignments have also been agreed.
As of 1 August, they will be:
- Dr Aidan Harrigan – Ministry of Finance, Labour, Immigration, Home Affairs and
Constitutional Affairs (unchanged) - Marisa Harding-Hodge – Ministry of Finance, Labour, Immigration, Home Affairs and Constitutional Affairs (unchanged)
- Dr Bonnie Richardson-Lake – Ministry of Social Development, Education, Library, Youth and Culture (unchanged)
- Karim Hodge – Ministry of Health, Tourism and Sports (transitioning from Economic Development)
- Larry Franklin – Ministry of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce, Lands, Planning, Water and Natural Resources (transitioning from Public Administration)
- Jacqueline Bryan-Niles – Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities, Housing, IT and E-Government Services (transitioning from Health)
- Maeza Demis-Adams – Department of Public Administration, assigned to the portfolio of Governor Julia Crouch under the direction of Deputy Governor Perin Bradley
In the press release, the deputy governor said the changes reflect the government’s commitment to stronger leadership, aligning ministerial and administrative roles, and strategic progress.
