Armed robbers steal thousands from Western Union in Stoney Ground

Two masked robbers armed with guns stole thousands of dollars from the Western Union at Albert Lake’s Supermarket in Stoney Ground on Saturday, 4 January.

The culprits entered the premises at about 10.50am, according to a statement from the Royal Anguilla Police Force.

They robbed cashiers of about EC$13,000 and US$8,500 before fleeing the scene on a motorbike.

The first suspect was about 5 feet 4 inches tall with a dark complexion and was dressed in long sleeves, black socks, and black slippers, the statement said.

The second suspect was described as short, and also wearing long sleeves.

Police are urging anyone with information on this incident, no matter how small, to come forward.

“The Royal Anguilla Police Force strongly condemns this brazen act of criminality and remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety of our community,” the statement said.
