Anguilla’s tourism growth continues with record arrivals in third quarter

Tourist arrivals in Anguilla continued their record-breaking trend in the third quarter, with two of the three months hitting historic highs.

A large increase in day trippers made up the majority of the new arrivals, with stay-over visitors recording a decline since 2024.

The Anguilla Statistics Department released its latest tourism statistics summaries for July, August and September this week.

July and August recorded the highest visitor numbers since data collection began, while September posted the second-highest total, just below last year’s figure.

In July, 22,561 visitors arrived on the island and 17,905 in August  – a 21.5% and 12.8% increase compared to the same months in 2024 – while September saw 6,453 arrivals – a drop of 3.5%.

Of those, 17,775, 16,066 and 6,006 arrived by sea, and 4,786, 1,839 and 447 by air in July, August and September.

Stay-over vs day trippers

Tourists who stayed over for at least one night in Anguilla in July, August and September totalled 10,080, 7,026 and 1,676 – an increase of 4.2% and decreases of 7.1% and 7.2% from 2024.

Stay-over visitors represented the smallest share of arrivals to Anguilla during all three months at 44.7%, 39.2% and 26%.

The length of stay from 2024 to 2025 decreased slightly from 7.2 to 7.1 days in July, from 6.8 to 6.6 in August and from 9.5 to 9.3 in September.

The highest amount of visitors on July, August and September – 66.5%, 46.8% and 32.9% – came from the United States.

Meanwhile, day trip visitors to Anguilla in totalled 12,481 and 10,879 in July and August – an increase of 40.4% and 31%, while September recorded a 2.2% decline at 4,777.

Earlier this year, the Anguilla Statistics Department released the tourism statistics summary reports for January, February, March, April, May and June – which all recorded record arrivals.
