Anguilla Football Association invests in the next generation of football coaches

The Anguilla Football Association has launched a Concacaf C License course to improve coaching standards and strengthen grassroots football development.

The programme began on 2 October and will run until 22 November under the guidance of head of coach education Nigel Linton, supported by coach educators Colin Johnson and Isabel Rosario.

Eleven participants – seven women and four men – are undertaking intensive training, practical coaching sessions and club-based activities to develop their skills.

In a press release, Linton said: “This course represents more than certification; it is about empowering coaches to positively impact grassroots football and create lasting change in our communities.

“The diversity and commitment of this cohort is a powerful step forward for Anguilla’s football future.”

The C License course forms a part of the AFA’s Development Strategy, which prioritises the improvement of coaching quality, player experiences and club structures at the grassroots level.

“By investing in coach education, the AFA continues to build a sustainable pathway for football development,” the AFA said in the press release.

It added that this will ensure that every child in Anguilla has access to knowledgeable, certified coaches who can inspire and guide their growth.
