Veteran educator Dr Trevor Hodge has been appointed as the new principal of Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School (ALHCS).
Bren Romney, chief education officer for the Department of Education, announced the appointment in a press release on 23 July.
“Dr Hodge brings over 15 years of experience in education leadership, with a proven record of accomplishments,” he said.
“We are confident that his expertise will be instrumental in guiding our students towards success.
“We look forward to welcoming Dr Hodge his new role and working together to create an exceptional learning environment for all our students.”
Hodge has worked in education for nearly three decades, most recently as deputy principal curriculum at ALHCS where he began transformational work in curriculum reform and enrichment.
Prior to that he taught in Anguilla as well as in public schools and tertiary institutions in Massachusetts in the United States of America, and Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
He also worked in school leadership deployment at the British International School of Casablanca in Morocco.
Hodge boasts a number of academic achievements, including a doctorate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he also earned his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
In the press release he said he was glad to have the opportunity to shape the teaching and learning experience at Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School.
“I am excited to be a part of the team, and I look forward to making meaningful contributions with my team for the enhancement of public education in Anguilla,” he said.
Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School in The Valley is the sole government secondary school in Anguilla.
