Three people in total have been arrested in connection to the murder of a 33-year-old man in a vehicle outside Anguilla Courthouse last week – and then later released.
Officers from the Royal Anguilla Police Force made the first arrest on 19 July – the same day as the deadly shooting.
They released the arrestee three days later on 22 July after thorough questioning and examination and they are no longer a person of interest in the case.
“It’s been one week since the brazen mid-morning shooting at the courthouse, where we tragically lost a member of our community,” police said in a statement on 26 July.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
A man from Bad Cox Pond was shot and killed at about 10.40am on 19 July in a vehicle outside the court, which he was due to attend that morning.
His was the sixth shooting death in Anguilla since the start of the year – one of which was the police shooting of a 19-year-old during an suspected armed robbery.
