Seven remarkable women have been honoured with RISE Awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions to advancing women’s empowerment in Anguilla.
An independent committee, tasked with identifying those who had made a significant impact in their respective fields, carefully selected the winners from a pool of 27 deserving nominees.
The winners were presented with the awards at the International Women’s Day Celebration Service at the Pro-cathedral of St Mary on Saturday, 8 March – a highlight of Women’s Week 2025.
The Gender Affairs Unit hosted the awards RISE (Resilient, Influential, Successful and Empowered) Awards, which it has rebranded after ten years to acknowledge achievements across seven categories.

This year’s recipients in each category were:
- Civilla Kentish – Excellence in Leadership
- Trish Richardson – STEM Innovator
- Tyeisha Emmanuel – Emerging Leader
- Farrah Banks – Arts, Culture and Sports
- Chrislyn Hughes – Entrepreneurial Excellence
- Gracemae Richardson-Carty – Community Impact Award
- Phyllis Fleming-Banks – Lifetime Achievement Award
Women’s Week 2025 began on Sunday, 2 March, and concluded with the service on International Women’s Day, Saturday, 8 March.
This year’s theme, ‘Rise and thrive: Women in action, shaping communities’, emphasised the power of women who take initiative, drive change, and build stronger, more inclusive communities.
In Anguilla, activities commemorating the week included radio interviews, the Thrive Symposium, the Woman 2 Woman Mini Series and the Annual Hats and Heels Brunch.
