New Anguilla to Puerto Rico public charter route gets promotional boost

The Anguilla Tourist Board has partnered with Charter Air Direct to promote the flight operator’s new direct service between Anguilla (AXA) and San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU).

Launched on 15 December, last year, the public charter route operates through Bermuda-based Freedom II airline and features 22 weekly flights.

In the coming months, the tourist board will work to enhance brand awareness by targeting travel advisors and Puerto Rico residents, and engage in destination campaigns and trade presentations

The partnership will also include marketing support, with cross-promotion through both company and destination websites and social media platforms.

In a press release, tourism director Stacey Liburd said the Anguilla Tourist Board is excited about the new air service.

“We commend Charter Air Direct for their decision to initiate these flights and appreciate their confidence in our destination,” she said.

“Expanding access is essential for boosting our visitor numbers, and we look forward to collaborating closely with our new partners as we work to further develop and enhance our tourism industry.”

The flight schedule from Anguilla to San Juan offers short charter flights three times a week – Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Flights depart from Anguilla’s Clayton J Lloyd Airport (AXA) at 9am and from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) at 4pm.

On Saturdays and Sundays, flights leave Anguilla at 1pm and depart from San Juan at 5pm.
