A 29-year-old man was shot dead in a bar in South Hill around midnight last night, the Royal Anguilla Police Force has confirmed.
Officers received a report just after 12am on Monday, 17 February, that a shooting had taken place in Hillside Bar and Grill, located on Back Street.
Omari Roberts, a visitor from the British Virgin Islands who had arrived in Anguilla on 14 February, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said in a statement.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
“Any information, no matter how small, may assist in our ongoing investigation,” the police statement said.
A section of the road in the vicinity of the bar has been closed off to all traffic until further notice for investigations.

This is the second homicide in Anguilla of 2025 after Carl Stephen Carter, in his 60s, was shot dead in The Farrington on the evening of Friday, 7 February.
Six homicides were recorded in 2024, with charges brought in one case.
