A man was shot dead in The Farrington on the evening of Friday, 7 February, according to the Royal Anguilla Police Force.
Officers responded to an emergency call at about 6pm and upon arrival at the scene they found an unresponsive man with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, a police press release confirmed later the same evening.
It went on to say that police and other emergency personnel remained in the area to carry out homicide investigations.
The police press office told Anguilla Focus that officers are still working to notify the next of kin so cannot release any of the victim’s details at this time.
Police have also confirmed that this was the first recorded homicide in Anguilla for 2025. Six homicides were recorded in 2024, but charges have only been brought in one case.
