Young athletes from Anguilla were “very successful” during the first track meet of the year, according to the Anguilla Amateur Athletic Federation.
The sporting event, which focused on intermediate distances from 40 to 600 metres, took place on Saturday, 18 January, at the Stade Alberic Richards in St Martin.
Among the participants from Anguilla were members of the Rainbow Rockets, the RO Jets Athletics Academy and the LSF Track and Field Academy.
“The athletes gave a great performance and showcase [of] what’s to come in this upcoming track and field season,” the federation said in a statement.
“Let’s continue to support our young athletes and coaches as they endeavour to improve and represent our lovely island, Anguilla.”
