South Hill man charged after 60-year-old killed in road collision

Sixty-year-old Royston Wilson of West End tragically lost his life in a road traffic collision in Long Path on 16 January, according to a statement from the Royal Anguilla Police Force.

The crash occurred about 6.40pm near Anguilla Community College on Long Path Road.

It involved a Nissan March driven by Wilson and a Toyota Mark X driven by 20-year-old Theomar A Rowe of South Hill.

Wilson was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Rowe has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, police confirmed in the press release.

He appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 21 January, and was granted EC$50,000 bail with one surety subject to a number of conditions.

Rowe was ordered to surrender all his travel documents, not leave Anguilla, refrain from contact with any known witnesses, be of good behaviour and keep the peace.
