The Department of Natural Resources is embarking on a composting drive this July in order to create usable fertiliser for crop cultivation.
It is asking members of the public in Anguilla to donate organic matter such as plant materials and food scraps – but no animal products except eggshells – to be recycled.
Anyone with raw vegetable waste can bring it to the Department of Natural Resources on Parliament Drive in The Valley from Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 3.30pm.
“We look forward to your contribution to this initiative,” the department said in a press release on 10 July.
Further information is available from Sheldon Richardson of the Department of Natural Resources on (264) 497-2615, extension 1608.
