South Hill woman charged after child allegedly ate cannabis resin

A 34-year-old woman from South Hill has been charged with possession of cannabis resin and child endangerment.

The charges stem from an incident where it was alleged that a child ingested the controlled drug, the Royal Anguilla Police Force said in a press release.

She was arrested on 8 October following a report to the Royal Anguilla Police Force, and was charged by officers of the police Safeguarding Unit.

The woman appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on 10 October, where she was granted bail in the sum of EC$10,000.

Conditions of her bail include a daily curfew, restrictions on applying for international travel documents, being of good behaviour and supervised visits with the child involved.

“In keeping with our policy, the defendant’s identity has been withheld due to the involvement of a juvenile,” the press release said.
