Anguilla’s national men’s team suffered a 5-0 defeat to Antigua and Barbuda in their first Group B fixture of the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League.
Christopher Douglas opened the scoring in the first minute for Antigua and Barbuda with a header at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on 27 September.
Dion Pereira added a second long range goal in the 16th minute before Douglas scored again five minutes later to make it 3-0.

D’Andre Bishop extended the lead in the 35th minute and Kayonte George added a fifth in the 43rd minute, leaving Anguilla facing a five-goal deficit at half-time.
Anguilla made three changes at the interval, with Jayvon Lloyd, Jonathan Guishard and Jordan Deans coming on as the team looked to respond in the second half.
Antigua and Barbuda also made a number of substitutions during the second half, while the match became increasingly disrupted by fouls and disciplinary action.
Keon Greene was shown a red card for Antigua and Barbuda in the 72nd minute, reducing the hosts to 10 players, and Shalon Knight was then sent off in stoppage time.
Despite the late dismissals, Antigua and Barbuda held on to their 5-0 advantage until the final whistle in the League C match.
Anguilla did not earn any points in Sunday’s match, leaving the team last in the Group B table.
The only other group fixture took place on 23 September when Aruba secured a 1-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda with substitute Mishawn Molina scoring the winner in the 93rd minute.
The two results left Antigua and Barbuda at the top of the table with three points after two matches played, and Aruba is in the second spot, also with three points and one match played.
Anguilla’s next match will be against the Aruba at 12am on 30 September at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
The fifth edition of the Concacaf Nations League kicked off on 23 September with a new campaign featuring all 41 Concacaf Member Associations across Leagues A, B and C.
The September to October FIFA match window will feature 74 group stage matches across the three leagues and include the tournament’s historic 500th match.
The competition will continue in November before culminating in March 2027 with the Concacaf Nations League finals.
The league will also serve as the sole pathway to the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup, with teams qualifying directly or advancing to additional qualification rounds based on their performance.
Concacaf, or the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football, is one of FIFA’s six continental confederations, servicing 41 member associations.
