Anguilla Football Association receives FIFA award for ‘most impactful’ infrastructure

The Anguilla Football Association (AFA) has received the award for the ‘Most Impactful Infrastructure Project’ at the FIFA Forward Awards 2026 – Americas Edition.

The award recognised the development of the artificial pitch at the Raymond E Guishard Technical Centre in The Valley, which was completed through support from the FIFA Forward programme.

According to the AFA in a press release on 7 May, the artificial pitch has become a “transformational asset for football in Anguilla” and supports activities throughout the entire calendar year.

The facility is used for player development, national teams, youth football, grassroots programmes, coaching education and wider community engagement initiatives.

The AFA described the recognition at the event in Vancouver, Canada on 6 May as a “major milestone” and said it reflected its commitment to sustainable football infrastructure development.

The association said the project benefits players, coaches and the wider community, while helping to strengthen football development both now and in the future.

The AFA thanked FIFA and the FIFA Forward programme for their continued support in helping to elevate football development in Anguilla.

The association also recognised the work of its staff, stakeholders, players, coaches, volunteers and supporters, whose efforts continue to advance football across the island.

According to the AFA, the award further positions Anguilla as a growing leader in football development within the Caribbean region.
