Chef Dale Carty to launch deli take-out at site of original Tasty’s restaurant

Chef Dale Carty is planning to launch a new deli take-out at the site of his first restaurant, nearly three decades after it first opened in South Hill.

The building, which is located just next door to his current eatery – Tasty’s POV, has been largely unused in recent years and the new venture will finally bring the space back to life.

The deli, tentatively called either Dale’s Deli or Tasty’s Deli, will focus on quick, grab-and-go options, and according to Carty, will be the only one in Anguilla.

The restaurant owner told Anguilla Focus the island is “yearning” for somewhere to get a quick meal where “it shouldn’t take more than eight minutes”.

Customers will be able to pick up sandwiches, cold cuts, cheeses, sides, drinks and sweet options, as well as platters or picnic hampers for the beach.

Speaking about why he decided to launch a deli, Carty said: “I’ve been having many conversations with a lot of loyal guests and a lot of locals too who are of the opinion that it’s needed.

“So I thought to myself, why not jump on that? Because I’m a risk taker. I’m the type of person that has no fear – I give it a go.”

On the timing, Carty said: “I’m giving myself a deadline of Easter – I’m taking my time to get it right. I’m not rushing it.”

He said he is still working on the menu and welcomes ideas from the public on what they would like to see featured.

Addressing future customers, he said: “When it’s open, you’ve got to try it, because it’s going to be something different and unique.”

Part of the space will also house a new spa and aesthetics area which will features pedicures, manicures, facials and more.

Tasty’s POV is the current incarnation of Carty’s restaurant brand, a South Hill dining spot known for creative Caribbean cuisine and scenic views over Sandy Bay.

He previously also ran Rendezvous at Tasty’s Beach Club from October 2024 until December 2025 when he announced that it would be operating under new management. It is now named The Coral Club.
