Women lead, learn and grow at the 2026 Thrive Women’s Symposium

The 2026 Thrive Women’s Symposium brought together women from across Anguilla for a day of workshops on personal development, financial confidence, wellness and self-defence.

The event at the Red Dragon Disco on 4 March also featured a marketplace of women-led businesses and health-focused sessions designed to inspire and equip participants with practical skills.

It took place as part of this year’s Women’s Week celebrations which also included the RISE Awards ceremony and the Hats and Heels brunch.

Participants enjoyed the ‘Inner Balance’ workshop led by Dr Phyllis Fleming-Banks, and ‘Self-Defence and Situational Awareness’ with Hilroy Alfred and Krav Maga Anguilla.

Vanessa Connor and Liberty Coorperative Credit Union led the ‘Financial Confidence’ workshop while Verlyndah Hodge headed the ‘Birthing Greatness’ session.

Hands on sessions included ‘Lash Application’ with Jemila Morson-Hodge and ‘Plumbing 101’ led by Rayphia Campbell.

The ‘Empowerment Marketplace’ showcased a range of women-owned businesses, while the ‘Health Village’ provided opportunities for health education, connection and support.

It was hosted by the Primary Health Care Unit and the Anguilla Family Planning Association.

In a press release on 16 March, the Gender Affairs Unit and the Community Services Planning Unit thanked all the facilitators, partners, vendors and participants.
