Spartans Football Club have been crowned champions of the Anguilla Football Association (AFA) Boys Under-15 Youth League.
Their success was marked by “exceptional talent, unwavering dedication and remarkable teamwork”, a press release from the club said on 23 May.
The team was led by goalkeeper and captain Kaeron Herbert, who conceded just one goal throughout the tournament.
Herbert, who was widely regarded as the league’s top goalkeeper, anchored a solid defensive line and impressed with his distribution and command in goal.
Defender Tcari Connor also earned individual honours and was named Best Defender of the league.
However, the team’s success was built on more than defence.
Forward Kijel Robin dominated the attacking charts and received both the Overall MVP and Finals MVP awards.
He scored a hat-trick in the championship match to secure Spartans’ title win.
Youth Academy manager Soya Williams said the team’s performance was a reflection of the players’ commitment and the coaching staff’s focus on development and discipline.
“This championship is a reflection of the hard work, commitment, and passion that each player has poured into the sport,” she said.
“It is also a testament to the dedication of our coaching staff who have nurtured their talent and instilled in them the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
