A police press release on 19 January said: “Officers and civilian staff were recognised for exceptional bravery, professionalism, and exemplary service.”

Several officers received awards for their response to a violent domestic incident.

“Their decisive and selfless actions led to the safe arrest of a dangerous suspect and ensured the protection of all involved, reflecting the highest standards of duty and public service,” police said.

In addition, officers were honoured for bravery, dedication and exceptional performance after responding, while off duty, to intelligence regarding an illegal cannabis plantation.

“Their commitment resulted in extended field operations, the recovery of cannabis plants and a firearm, and the successful arrest and conviction of two offenders,” the press release said.

“Their actions exemplify the professionalism and determination of the Royal Anguilla Police Force.”

The event featured addresses from Commissioner of Police Robert Clark, Governor Julia Crouch and others, the presentation of awards and certificates of recognition, and entertainment.

The force congratulated all of the awardees and expressed appreciation for their continued service and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the Anguillian community.
