Robert Clark to serve second term as Anguilla’s police commissioner

Robert Clark has been officially reappointed as commissioner of the Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) for a second term.

The Governor’s Office revealed the news in a Facebook statement on 4 April.

“The governor is pleased to announce that she has reappointed Robert Clark for a further two years, as commissioner of police in the Royal Anguilla Police Force,” it read.

“The governor wants to thank the commissioner for all his work to date in leading the RAPF and serving the people of Anguilla.”

The Royal Anguilla Police Force also congratulated Clark on his reappointment as commissioner.

“Your dedication and integrity continue to serve the people of Anguilla well. Wishing you continued success in leading the RAPF,” it said in a Facebook statement.

Clark first officially took up the post on 2 May, 2023, during a ceremony at the Governor’s Office.

At the time, he pledged to collaborate with all communities to build a sustainable police force that earns and maintains public confidence.

“I want the communities to see that the RAPF is visible, accessible, responsive and victim focused,” he said.

Clark has more than 30 years of operational policing experience with extensive firearms command, public order command, roads and community policing expertise.

He joined the Royal Anguilla Police Force from the Police Service of Northern Ireland, where he served as the chief superintendent for two and half years and prior to that as a superintendent for 15 years.
