A workshop designed to introduce Anguilla’s women entrepreneurs to the fundamentals of coaching and connection is being held this week – and registration closes today.

The Caribbean Development Bank’s (CDB) SheTrades Caribbean Hub is hosting the free event alongside the Gender Affairs Unit and the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The workshop titled, ‘Coaching, connection and collaboration’ will highlight the power of engagement, relationship building and networking in women-led businesses.

Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants will learn how to use coaching principles to strengthen communication, create trust and open doors for collaboration.

The second event of its kind – facilitated by Anguillian expert Janine Edwards of janineconnects.com – builds on the digital marketing workshop in July.

Edwards told Anguilla Focus: “I look forward to connecting with a dynamic cross-section of Anguillian entrepreneurs and business professionals in a space that promises to be an engaging meeting of many minds.

“Our focus in this session will be to explore the sheer power of coaching, networking and collaborating and how these practices can fuel businesses to level up their operational game, success and contribution to our community.

“We look forward to a fertile learning ground to hear and share about best practices and colourful stories experienced along the entrepreneurial journey of our vibrant participants.”

Kayanne Anderson, SheTrades Caribbean regional coordinator, said the upcoming workshop marks another strategic step in the hub’s mission to empower women entrepreneurs across the region.

“Through the hub’s continued collaboration with the Gender Affairs Unit, we are not only delivering training, but we are also creating sustained pathways to opportunity, growth and community,” she added.

The session is designed to help participants not only develop essential leadership and coaching skills but also build meaningful connections with peers and mentors that support their entrepreneurial journey.

Kemoloy Murphy, gender development coordinator in the Gender Affairs Unit – the SheTrades Caribbean focal point for Anguilla – said the event responds to the needs women entrepreneurs have voiced.

“It [offers] them another opportunity to sharpen their skills, embrace connections and strengthen their capacity to compete in export markets,” she added.

The workshop will take place on 25 September from 9am to 12.30pm at the Ani Tech Lab at Innovate Anguilla in The Valley.

Spaces are limited to 20 participants and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested can call the Gender Affairs Unit on (264) 497-3930 ext 3505. Registration closes on 24 September.
