Police urge public to look out for stolen jewellery and games consoles

Police have issued an appeal to the public to look out for a number of stolen items including games consoles, a monitor and jewellery.

The request comes two months after a spate of burglaries in homes in South Hill on 27 and 28 August.

In a press release on 27 October, the Royal Anguilla Police Force said investigations suggest the suspects may be familiar with the community and possibly operating as a group.

The items reported stolen include two PlayStation 5 consoles, four other gaming consoles, a 27-inch KOORUI monitor, several pieces of jewellery and cash.

Police are appealing to parents, guardians and family members to take note if a child or relative has recently come into possession of any of these items without a clear explanation.

Members of the public are also urged to be vigilant and report anyone attempting to sell, pawn or exchange these items.

“Investigations into crimes are often complex and require time to gather, verify and analyse information. Detectives have been actively pursuing several lines of inquiry since the incidents occurred,” police said.

“At this stage, a public appeal has become necessary to help move the investigation forward. Sometimes, community members may hold key details that can help bring closure to families and justice to victims.”
