One ‘appears’ dead in ongoing incident in West End, police report

One person “appears” to have died in what police are calling an ongoing incident along the main road in West End.

It is not yet clear what led to the possible fatality, and authorities have not released any further details.

According to a statement from the Royal Anguilla Police Force, officers are on the scene near the National Commercial Bank of Anguilla west branch.

“Preliminary information suggests that one person appears to be deceased,” police said.

A roadblock is in place in the affected area, and police have advised motorists to use alternative routes.

Westbound traffic should turn right after the Village Bakehouse near J n J Catering to access Mead’s Bay Road, police advised.

Eastbound traffic should drive along Hubert Benjamin Hughes Drive and turn right onto Mead’s Bay Road. At the first corner they should take the dirt road on the right leading to J n J Catering.

The police press office will release further updates as details emerge.
