Two masked men attempted to break into an automated teller machine (ATM) at Republic Bank in The Valley in the early hours of Friday, 6 March.
The incident, which was captured on a security camera, took place at about 3.24am, the Royal Anguilla Police Force said in a press release.
The suspects were unable to access any cash, but they damaged the machine with hammers during their attempt.

The first man was wearing a blue cap with a dark brim, a brown polo shirt with a long sleeve top underneath, mid-blue jeans and brown trainers. The second man was wearing all black.

In a separate incident, at about 10am the same day, officers intercepted two Bulgarian men at Blowing Point Terminal who were found in possession of several of debit and credit cards.
Both were questioned but were unable to provide a reasonable explanation for having the cards in their possession.
“In light of previous incidents involving local ATMs, both men were detained and are currently in police custody at police headquarters,” the press release said on 7 March.
Police said it is unclear yet whether the attempted ATM break-in and the detention of the two individuals are connected.
