A vibrant fusion of colour, culture and joyful celebration marked the highly anticipated launch of this year’s Anguilla Summer Festival.
The glow parade and opening ceremony on 25 July set the tone for the days ahead, showcasing the island’s creativity, talent and rich heritage.
Hundreds of attendees lined the streets for the procession of drum beats and lights, before enjoying music, national pride and fireworks at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Centre.
The evening also featured on-stage appearances from contestants of the Junior Calypso, the Prince and Princess Show, the Miss Talented Teen Pageant, and the Miss Anguilla Pageant.
The 51st Anguilla Summer Festival – running from late 25 July to 10 August – marks a powerful cultural tradition rooted in Emancipation Day and boat racing heritage.
The festival’s highlights include street parties, colourful troupe processions, pageants, soca and calypso competitions, and the iconic August Monday boat races.
