Government approves 40% boost in living cost support for scholarship students

The Government of Anguilla has approved an increase of up to 40% in living expense support for students receiving government scholarships.

The announcement, made in a social media post on 26 October, marks the first such increase since 2008.

“In an ever-changing global and financial environment, the Government continues to prioritise education as a cornerstone of national development and empowerment,” the post says.

“By strengthening support for our students, we reaffirm our belief that access to education and opportunity remains one of the most powerful tools for building a resilient, prosperous Anguilla.”

The government said it remains dedicated to ensuring that young people are equipped to achieve academic success and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and progress of the island.

“We take this opportunity to wish all our students continued success in their studies and encourage them to pursue excellence as proud ambassadors of Anguilla wherever they may be,” it added.

Anguilla Focus has reached out to the Department of Education for further details and is awaiting a response.
