From fisheries to fireworks: Government lays out legislative roadmap

The government has unveiled an ambitious 48-item legislative agenda for the Anguilla House of Assembly, outlining its priorities for the year ahead.

Over the 2025–2026 session, parliamentarians will debate nine bills and 28 amendments, along with a range of regulations and existing acts under review.

On presenting the programme on 22 April, Premier Cora Richardson-Hodge called it an “ambitious agenda” but said it reflects what the government believes it can realistically achieve.

She mentioned that due to “limitations” in the Attorney General’s Chambers, the list focuses only on what is deemed important enough to be brought to parliament over the next year.
