Gesel Hodge has been appointed as deputy director of the Internal Audit Department within the Ministry of Finance.
In her role she will support the director in managing the department which ensures that government operations uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability and governance.
According to a government press release, Hodge brings diverse, multi-disciplinary experience from both the public and private sectors.
Her recent role was in financial services regulation, supervision, compliance, and enforcement.
She contributed to Anguilla’s preparation and participation in the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force’s fourth round anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing mutual evaluation.
Hodge also worked on various compliance and enforcement projects concerning service providers at multiple risk levels, ensuring adherence to both local legislation and international standards.
The press release said her academic achievements reflect her dedication to excellence.
She holds a BSc (Hons) in International Business, Finance, and Economics from the University of Manchester.
Hodge also has a Certificate in FinTech and Regulatory Innovation from the Cambridge Judge Business School.
