East End teenager charged with possession of cannabis with intent

A 19-year-old from East End in Anguilla has been charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

Leondre Lake was arrested on 21 October and appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on 23 October, a statement from the Royal Anguilla Police Force said.

He was granted  bail in the amount of EC$500 with the condition to maintain good character and keep the peace.

Just days afterwards, Cleston Adams, 48, from Rey Hill was arrested on 23 October and charged with the possession of an illegal gun and ammunition, as well as cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.

During his appearance in the Magistrate’s Court on 26 October, his request for bail was denied and he was remanded to prison.

In a press statement, Commissioner of Police Robert Clark said: “Illegal firearms and drug distribution pose a significant threat to the safety and security of our community.

“The Royal Anguilla Police Force is determined to eradicate these dangers from our island. We will continue to carry out rigorous investigations and enforce the law to protect our citizens.

“The RAPF remains committed to ensuring that those who bring illegal firearms and drugs into our community are held accountable.”
