Driver treated for gunshot wounds after Shoal Bay shooting

A man is recovering after sustaining three gunshot injuries during a shooting in Shoal Bay early on Thursday, 21 November.

The victim was driving a private hatchback car on a minor dirt road leading to Tropical Sunset Restaurant and Shoal Bay beach when he was fired upon.

Officers were alerted sometime after 12.30am when the man sought medical attention for his injuries, according to a Royal Anguilla Police Force statement on Facebook.

The victim is still being treated for his injuries in hospital and is in stable condition. He was not able to provide a description of the shooter.

“The RAPF condemns this act of violence in the strongest possible terms. Such incidents threaten public safety and the peaceful way of life cherished by the people of Anguilla,” the statement said.

Police urged anyone with information, no matter how small the detail, to come forward, saying it could “make a significant difference” in identifying those responsible.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
