In a new milestone for Anguilla’s luxury tourism, three of the island’s leading resorts have been recognised in the Michelin Guide’s newly launched Key awards.

The two-Key rating is the second highest available and signifies excellence in design, service, character, value, community contribution and overall guest experience.
The awards were announced on 8 October during an exclusive ceremony held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France.
Cap Juluca
The guide describes Cap Juluca on Maundays Bay a being a “sprawling complex of villas in a fantasy-world Moorish-meets-Santorini architectural style”.
“The interiors are, as ever, a mix of Mediterranean elegance and Caribbean chill,” it continues in its review of the luxury property.

“And the close proximity to the beach means every room, suite and villa has an ocean view, as well as a private terrace and in some cases a private pool – and the spa is as lavish as ever.
“The location is somewhat secluded, so it’s convenient that Cap Juluca should come with a handful of restaurants and bars, to keep your evenings varied…island life doesn’t get much better than this.”
In a Facebook post on 10 October, Cap Juluca said: “This honour is a reflection of our Julucan spirit and our ongoing commitment to creating experiences on the shores of Maundays Bay.”
Four Seasons
In its description of Four Seasons, the guide says the resort which sits on 35 acres of land between Barnes Bay and Meads Bay is a “decidedly upscale experience”.
“The design is by the same Kelly Wearstler whose maximalist sensibility has attracted so much attention for the stateside Viceroys, but here the look is a much more sedate one,” it says.
“Still eclectic as ever, from driftwood-inspired furnishings to eye-catching objets d’art, but it’s a style that’s as much soothing as it is stimulating.

“And there’s plenty for the other senses as well: this is a luxury experience, make no mistake, with full kitchens, private sundecks and private pools in many of the villas.”
In a press release on 10 October, Diego Stembert, general manager of Four Seasons, said: “Earning two Michelin keys is a proud moment for our resort.
“This recognition reflects dedication and commitment of our entire team, who strive to create an unparalleled guest experience that embodies the true spirit of the island.”
Malliouhana
The Michelin Guide describes Malliouhana as having been a favourite in Anguilla for decades “but lately it’s ascended to another level”.
“Its prime location, atop a bluff at the island’s western tip, affords incredible views along with access to pristine white-sand beaches,” it says.
“The accommodations, naturally, are stunning, breezy and sophisticated, full of island character, not kitsch.

“The Caribbean’s stunning beauty is highlighted at every turn, and guests have easy access to a number of activities including kayaking, snorkelling, paddle boarding, horseback riding, and cay-hopping on traditional West Indian sailboats.
“Another strength: Malliouhana is a gourmet’s paradise, something you can’t truthfully say about many of its peers.”
