Blowing Point man, 27, charged with illegal gun possession

Twenty-seven-year-old Joden Lewis from Blowing Point has been charged with possession of an illegal firearm.

According to the Royal Anguilla Police Force, officers responded to a domestic incident report in the Welches area on 1 January, which led to the discovery of a gun.

Lewis was arrested in connection with the incident and on 4 January he was formally charged with the offence.

He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 6 January, where he was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison awaiting further court dates.

A press release said the police force continues to urge members of the community to play their part in keeping Anguilla safe and to report information about illegal firearms or criminal activities.
