Armed robbers steal cash from Lebanese restaurant in George Hill

Armed robbers made off with cash from a Lebanese restaurant in George Hill on the evening of Saturday, 24 May, according to police.

A press release from the Royal Anguilla Police Force said officers received a report of the incident at Zack Shwarma just before midnight.

They are searching for two people in connection with the crime.

The first is described as about six foot one inch tall and slim, the second about five foot three inches tall and heavy-set.

Earlier the same evening at about 6pm, police responded to a report of gunshots heard in Island Harbour.

The press release said no injuries had been reported and one person is in custody helping with investigations.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information on either incident to come forward.
