Anguilla’s 2025 Chevening Scholarship recipients are preparing to head overseas to begin the next step of their higher education journeys.
Raheim Webster, Lennick Richardson, Sheslyn Gumbs and Shem Wills will all be jetting off to universities in the United Kingdom to study for one-year master’s degrees.
Before their departure, on 1 September they took part in a briefing at the Governor’s Office where Governor Julia Crouch presented them with certificates.
All Anguilla Focus members will be entered into a competition to win a beach day and lunch for two at Cap Juluca! Click here to join from just $3 per month.
The Immigration Department congratulated Richardson, who is a senior immigration officer, on his award in a Facebook post.
“On behalf of the management and staff of the Immigration Department we extend congratulations and best wishes to Lennick on this new journey,” the department said.
Gumbs is heading to Loughborough University to study accounting and finance, while Wills will be studying his master’s degree in criminal psychology at University of Portsmouth.

In a Facebook post, the Royal Anguilla Police Force wished Wills, who serves as a police superintendent, all the best with his studies.
“This achievement is a testament to his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service,” the police force said.
“We wish him, and all successful scholars, the very best as they embark on this next chapter of growth and excellence.
“We also extend warm congratulations to all other successful Chevening scholars for 2025-2026.”
The Chevening Scholarship is a UK government-funded programme that offers outstanding individuals from around the world the opportunity to pursue a one-year master’s degree at any UK university.
The Governor’s Office will be releasing more details on this year’s scholars in the coming weeks.
