Anguilla’s national women’s team faced a challenging match in their latest Concacaf qualifier, with Dominican Republic securing an 8-0 win.
The visitors took the lead early on 6 March at the Raymond E Guishard Technical Centre, opening the scoring in the fifth minute when Jazmín Jackson connected with a cross from Alyssa Oviedo.
Dominican Republic continued to press forward and doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute, with Oviedo finding the top corner from the centre of the box.

Anguilla’s goalkeeper Lerencia Ruan was called into action several times as the visitors dominated possession and created chances from distance.
Despite her efforts, they extended their lead midway through the first half when Oviedo added a third goal in the 37th minute, finishing into the bottom corner.
Just a minute later she struck again to make it 4-0.
Dominican Republic continued to apply pressure, and Mía Asenjo added a fifth goal in the 42nd minute with a composed finish from the centre of the area, giving the visitors a commanding advantage.

Both sides made several substitutions at half-time as Anguilla looked to regroup, but Dominican Republic maintained control after the restart.
Nadia Colón scored from long range in the 48th minute to make it 6-0, before substitute Gabriella Cuevas added a seventh just past the hour mark following a corner.
During the match Anguilla created a few moments of their own, with Reynah Lico testing Dominican Republic goalkeeper Odaliana Gómez with a long-range effort in the first half and Nahla Ipinson Connor winning a late free kick.
However, Dominican Republic added an eighth goal deep into stoppage time when Kathrynn González finished from the right side of the box after being set up by Natalie Bruno.
Anguilla now sits fourth in Group D after two matches in the Concacaf W Qualifiers, with no points and a -10 goal difference, just above the Belize team, who also have no points and a -14 goal difference.
