Superintendent Vydia Harrigan of the Royal Anguilla Police Force has graduated from a rigorous one-year training programme in senior police leadership.
She studied for the Advanced Diploma in Command, Leadership and Management at the National Police College of Jamaica where the graduation ceremony was held on 5 December.
Harrigan is among 23 senior officers to receive the qualification, including 20 senior officers of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, a superintendent at the Jamaica Fire Brigade, and an assistant superintendent at the Department of Correctional Services.
The training combined contemporary leadership theory with practical frameworks tailored to modern policing realities, a police press release said on 9 December.

Officers examined current crime trends, inter-agency collaboration, ethical command practices, organisational leadership, emotional intelligence, and command decision-making.
“The programme aligns with critical competencies required of senior officers operating within a rapidly evolving security landscape,” the Royal Anguilla Police Force said.
It added that the training ensures graduates possess a holistic understanding of governance, administration, leadership development and operational readiness.
The police force congratulated Harrigan on her professional accomplishment and said it remains committed to investing in leadership development in service to public safety in Anguilla.
Harrigan was promoted to the rank of superintendent in March after dedicating over 25 years to the Royal Anguilla Police Force.
