The Anguilla Football Association (AFA) held its 2024 Awards Ceremony this week, celebrating the exceptional achievements of players, teams and officials.
The ceremony, which took place on Monday, 25 November, showcased the outstanding talent, dedication, and passion of Anguilla’s football community.
With 330 medals and 27 trophies presented across both the men’s and women’s leagues, supporters from all over the island came together to celebrate their accomplishments.
The AFA also honoured the referees and match officials, ensuring that their hard work and professionalism behind the scenes did not go unnoticed.
AFL Women’s League
Super Stars FC dominated the Women’s League, finishing in first place with 33 points. The team earned a trophy, 30 medals, and a cheque for their remarkable performance.
Other standout teams included East Enders FC in second place and Diamond Queens FC in third place.
Individual awards in the women’s league were spread across several top performers:
Best New Player (Debutant, Under 16): Talicia Simmons (Lil Soldiers FC)
Young Emerging Player (Under 20): Joden Henry (Diamond FC)
Best Goalkeeper: Keturah Caines (Super Stars FC)
Best Defender: Janai Gumbs (East Enders FC)
Best Midfielder: Jessica Miller-Ulmer (Super Stars FC)
Best Forward: Tarvia Phillip (Super Stars FC)
Top Goal Scorer: Carlia Johnson (Super Stars FC)
Most Valuable Player (MVP): Carlia Johnson (Super Stars FC)
In the AFL Women’s Knockout, Super Stars FC took the top honour, receiving a trophy and cheque for their outstanding performance.
AFL Men’s League
In the Men’s League, Doc’s United FC emerged as the champions, earning 46 points and winning a trophy, 30 medals, and a cheque.
Roaring Lions FC and Attackers FC finished in second and third place, respectively.

Best Forward: Sylvanus James (Doc’s United FC)
Top Goal Scorer: Jauron Gayle (Uprising FC)
Most Valuable Player (MVP): Sylvanus James (Doc’s United FC)
Roaring Lions FC claimed victory in the AFL Super Four Men’s competition, earning first place, 30 medals, and a cheque, while Doc’s United FC took second place and Diamond FC rounded out the top three.
Unsung heroes
The night also highlighted the indispensable role of referees and match officials in ensuring fair play throughout the season.
The AFA awarded 35 medals to these dedicated individuals who contributed their time and expertise to the league’s success.
“The AFA extends its heartfelt thanks to all sponsors, supporters, and volunteers who made the 2024 football season a success,” the association said in a press release on 29 November.
“Their unwavering commitment to the growth of football in Anguilla continues to provide opportunities for athletes to shine and reach their full potential.
“As the 2024 season concludes, the AFA is already looking ahead to next year, with plans to continue developing the sport at all levels and expanding opportunities for both male and female players.”
